James Goetz Florida Chronicles- The Hostile Takeover

For once, all appeared right in the world. James Goetz was in Bridgeport, safe and sound at Chiropractic College. His mother, the Duchess was safe, taking a long and much needed sabattical in Florida. While his father, Professor Goetz, was enjoying the same said sabbatical as his mother.

At this point, it appeared the Lakeland Diamond was returned to the Royal Family and this time no courier was used, as pickup was direct herself.

Seated in class, Dr. Keown was delivering yet another riveting lectures. By this point, young Goetz could deliver some lectures. His ability to retain information combined with his work ethic was unmatched by any other student doctor. The evolution of James Goetz from boy to man, was certainly underway.

James Goetz was in the midst of a laboratory when the room shook, glass shattered and fellow students dove for cover.  A barrage of explosions continued for what seemed like an eternity, realistically lasting for five full minutes. When the dust settled, someone, somewhere had obviously made a statement. But who and why?
As young James Goetz, doctors and students come out from under tables; they went outside to see what had occurred. Bridgeport appeared as if it were destroyed. Chaos was everywhere. Radio reports quickly came across. New York, New Jersey and part of Pennsylvania were all destroyed. What was going on?

Shortly thereafter, classes were cancelled until the safety of the students could be assured. James Goetz left Bridgeport, Connecticut to travel back home to New Jersey, where hopefully his parents would be waiting.

As James traveled through southern Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, he was aghast at the total destruction that lay around him.  While he had hoped his parents would have made it back home up to New Jersey, as a caring son wanted his parents to still be safe in the sunshine State of Florida.

Many hours later, arriving in New Jersey, James Goetz we of course greeted by his parents. Where most people flee from trouble and c chaos, the Professor and Duchess flock towards it.

General Hector Cruz! Exclaimed the Duchess the moment James Goetz entered the front door. She went on to explain that General Hector Cruz was a Cuban insurgent, bent on taking over and leading Cuba. However, he needed funding for a successful takeover. He had discovered the Lakeland Diamond was to be transported out of the United States and caused such chaos that he was able to shut down all transportation both in and out of the country. He is also quite ill tempered and constantly in a bad mood. Yes, he is quite moody and while people have attempted to calm him, it is believed he will forever be a moody individual.

So where is the Lakeland Diamond now? Questioned young James Goetz. It’s in Florida, in the coffee once again, “commented Professor Goetz. The Duchess had remarked, the queen herself was coming for holiday, so we used a bit of misdirection in regards to the Lakeland Diamond. Unfortunately, the Queen is now stuck here for a bit with this troublesome diamond and she too a bit moody, obviously overstaying her welcome.

Professor Goetz then noted that all there left to do was to apprehend General Hector Cruz, as the Lakeland Diamond was quite safe.

As General Cruz was a politician, the Goetz trio went downtown to talk with the city commissioners to see if they could find a clue. The commissioners were not in session so, they were able to freely talk with them, however, they were not all present. One commissioner in particular, commissioner Edwin cattleman was absent, they tracked him down to his favorite watering hole in Florida, The Swamp.

Slimy politicians like commissioner cattleman are tough to talk to but take bribes fast. He was bribed by an offer of teatime with the Queen Mum. General Cruz was hiding out in New Jersey in the basement of the governor’s mansion. The authorities were promptly contacted and apprehended the moody general. He was not too happy that his coordinated plot was so easily failed.

As the Goetz trio spoke about the event, they all agreed the Lakeland Diamond was more trouble then it was worth. James Goetz questioned the new glaring ties to the governor.
