With
the General Cruz now gone, the Lakeland Diamond gone b back home now with the
queen, things began to go back to normal or at least as normal as they can go
in the life of James Goetz. His parents once again left New Jersey for a milder
climate in Florida.
The
timing of young James’ parents going to Florida could not have been better.
However, after the attack by General Cruz’s Connecticut, New York and New
Jersey are still in total and complete disarray. Classes at the University were
still suspended. James Goetz spent his time reviewing patient cases, helping
restore his Bridgeport neighborhood to its former glory and handing out with
his f fellow classmates, shooting the preverbal breeze.
Late
one evening while strolling back to his apartment in Bridgeport, James Goetz
glanced at the wall of a local government building. Low and behold, some
hoodlum painted a swastika in graffiti. It appeared ten feet high by ten feet
wide, if it were a statement. As James Goetz walked along a bit further, yet
another large swastika was painted, this time on the postal office.
Books
depict the swastika as a symbol of peace and goodwill. However, these swastikas appeared ominous and
gave James Goetz an uncomfortable feeling. This graffiti in James Goetz’s
Connecticut home would not be tolerated. Actually, this would not be tolerated
in Connecticut, New Jersey, or any other state, province, municipality, or
corner for that matter. Who could be doing this ominous looking art work and
for what reason?
James
Goetz’s mind must have been going in overdrive for quite some time, as the next
thing he realized is he was waking up and it was morning. After getting dressed
for the day, he strolled down the brick layered street during the early
Bridgeport, Connecticut morning. He purchased an espresso and newspaper. The
headlines were yelling loudly outside of the newspaper. They read, ”Government
Buildings Graffiti From Connecticut to Florida.” This had to be more than some
hoodlum kids and unfortunately has a politically charged and ominous meaning to
it. What though could it be related to? As of late, James Goetz would have had
to believe there was a relationship to the Lakeland Diamond. With the Lakeland
Diamond safe and sound in it home, actual detective work will have to come into
play. With classes at the University still cancelled, James Goetz had some time
to look into this mystery.
He began by going o the site of the closest
post office. A careful analysis was at first believed to be ineffective. Paint
is paint, and there did not appear to be anything special about it.
James
Goetz was a bit befuddled due to the dead end lead. That evening at the pub,
his fellow chiropractic classmates informed him there was only one paint store
in all of Connecticut. Of course, James Goetz paid the store a visit. Upon
asking the clerk about anyone buying large amounts of black paint, the clerk
informed him a few weeks back, a short foreign gentleman with dark hair and a
finny mustache purchased a large amount of black paint.
James
Goetz traveled back home to New Jersey, stopping at every paint store along the
way. At each store, a clerk gave him the exact same description of the buyer.
James Goetz sent a message to the Duchess
in Florida.
