James Goetz Florida Chronicles- Introduction

THE JAMES GOETZ CHRONICLES

The James Goetz Chronicles are set in the late 1800’s and based purely on fiction. Any reference or similarities to any person or event is purely on fiction.

Stories are focused around James Goetz, a doctor of Chiropractic any chiropractic philosopher and detective. Dr. Goetz was born and raised by his parents, who emigrated from the Ukraine in order to provide a better life for their son. After the Goetz family arrival in Ellis Island, they settled in New Jersey, where his parents reside today.

“Professor Goetz”, as James’ Father is aptly known, was promptly hired as a nuclear physicist with the United States government. Professor Goetz was well ahead of his time in his research and development. It was highly suspected that Albert Einstein reconstructed most of his patent ideas a few years later.

James Goetz’s mother, ”Duchess” after moving to the United States, became a United States government spy, stationed in Ireland and travels back to the Ukraine as well as Florida.

James Goetz is a well-educated recluse. He left home in New Jersey when he was seventeen in order to pursue a higher education. He was accepted into and graduated from Yale. During his four-year education, Goetz, Goetz lived in Bridgeport; he would stroll down towards the University of Bridgeport to meet with the great showman, P.T. Barnum. Through Barnum, Goetz met both D.D. Palmer and his son B.J. Palmer, the “founder” of Chiropractic.

Goetz quickly fell in love with the chiropractic profession and began to
Practice on his fellow Yale classmates. What he enjoyed most of all with the chiropractic profession was the mystery and intrigue of diagnosis. It was a mystery. Without cutting open the human body, Goetz found he could piece together the clues necessary to solve the mysteries of the human body.

When his mother was in the United States, Goetz loved to visit her in Tampa, Florida. She lived on a lake and her house was positioned

On ten acres of land, Goetz enjoyed Florida, especially in the cooler months when the temperature was down to seventy degrees. The summer months in Florida were always past hot. Even though the eldest Goetz had invented and utilized their own private air conditioning, the summer heat was just ghastly

One particular hot summer Florida day, James Goetz was swimming in the lake. It was a wonderful reprieve from working the land. His plan for the day was to practice his chiropractic technique before returning to Connecticut later that week. He was satisfied to have an opportunity to stop by their New Jersey home on the way.

After drying off from the lake, he walked up the hill into his mothers, off grid Tampa, Florida home. Something was not right. It was silent, There we no sounds of his mother moving about. Where could she be? “Mom”?
“Mother”? he bellowed. There was nothing but silence.

As the soon to be doctor Goetz moved into his mothers’ study, he noticed a very large dagger protruding from the hardwood flooring. He carefully moved toward it, realizing it was safe to read. Without touching the knife, he read the words, hastily scribbled on the parchment. They simply said, “Picked up mail”

What did this mean?  What was this in reference to? The only person who may know is his father, the professor. It would take a few days ride from Florida to New Jersey? Goetz knew he could not make haste and had to hurry. He hopped on his horse and began his journey through Florida and the Deep South towards home in New Jersey.

Scurrying into the Goetz Family home, James found his father and quickly told him what happened. His father informed him to return to school in Connecticut and that he would take care of things. When James returned from school in winter, his mother should return.

Following the professors’ orders, he returned to his school residence in Bridgeport, but refused to allow his mother, United States special agent/spy or not, go missing?  Who picked up the mail?

James Goetz Florida Chronicles- Russian Terminator

Professor Goetz had been a recluse for the last year. He began to look gaunt, scraggly and his bathing habits were called into question. James Goetz was noticing the lack of self-care his father was applying. Some thought professor Goetz might have been stricken ill. Others may have been led to think a sickness of the mind was at hand. In reality, young James Goetz knew the truth. The truth was his father was burning the midnight oil from both sides of a candle. Professor Goetz was holed up in his New Jersey laboratory once again. The United States Government was concerned of another internal conflict. The thought of further civil war would decimate them and perhaps even leave them susceptible to outside forces such as Great Britain looking to regain their colonies as they had done this country, or the emerging powers of Russia or Germany. If such chaos from a young man spraying graffiti or blowing up Bridgeport, Connecticut as recently occurred, was so simple to accomplish, surely a manner to prevent this again was necessary. This is why Goetz had been once again commissioned to save the world.

Busy in the private New Jersey Goetz laboratory, James Goetz was watching his father craft fully build a large metal object. Young James Goetz was intrigued by the complexity of this weapon. By the looks of it, the appearance was almost human, only it was made of metal. A table in the Goetz New Jersey was covered in complex spaghetti-like metal called wires.

Professor Goetz put it together and turned it on. This eight foot tall, human-like machine stood attentively. Professor Goetz told it to walk forwards. This large machine proceeded forward. Professor Goetz commanded it to stop. Young James Goetz watched this machine stop.

Chiropractor James Goetz inquired to his father the source of power of this machine. Professor Goetz chuckled, “remember the Lakeland diamond”? How was this possible?  The Lakeland diamond had caused so much trouble. It caused deranged postal service men to come out of the woodwork. It caused politicians to lie, cheat, and steal. It almost caused an international incident. I thought the Lakeland diamond was sent back to its motherland to prevent another incident,  questioned young James Goetz. “It was, but due to escalating tensions in the world, the President of the United States commissioned your mother to bring it back and hide it in Florida.” She did”, said professor Goetz.

Professor Goetz had traveled down to Florida while young James Goetz had been at school in Bridgeport, Connecticut, bring it back to his New Jersey lab in order to create a robot that could be weaponized and bring peace to the United States. Only the Lakeland diamond diamond was the right size and shape with the necessary power to bring to life an inaminate object as big and powerful as this robot.

Young James Goetz now had a very serious concern and that concern was the United States using it, instead of defense for offense.

The robot was now fully functional. It was time Professor Goetz transported his creation from New Jersey to Washington, D.C. While Goetz created it, he did so for the United States government. The robot belonged to them. What they did with it may have been a great conceren to James Goetz New Jersey, but there was absolutely nothing he could do about itother than put his total and utter faith in the United States government and gthe President to do the right thing. The robot was designed for peace. Hopefully, this is what it would stand for. In a world that is becoming smaller and smaller and more unstable, peace woud onlyu last so long. Hopefully lang would be subjective to that of a small child and not an elderly statesman who keeps wondering “where did all that time go?”

James Goetz Florida Chronicles- Russian Nukes

James Goetz was pacing about in his apartment in Bridgeport. He was filled with anxiety and not sure what to do. His grades at the University were excellent. His family was in good health, though living quite an exciting life in just a couple of weeks, James Goetz would be unemployed. All of his work has paid off. All of his skills had been honed, re-honed, and honed once again. Patients were lined up out of the door and around the block to see student doctor Goetz. Yet in a few short weeks, it would all be over, as he will be graduating school to go from student doctor Goetz to doctor Goetz. He felt the pressure, but there was nothing to be done. As long as the earth continued to rotate around the sun, time will naturally pass and James Goetz will graduate from the University.

A knock on the door produced a welcomed distraction. It was h is mother and father, the Duchess and the professor. Early for graduation?” commented young James Goetz. “No, we came up from Florida to see you for a very specific reason,” stated the professor. James Goetz did not even realize his parents were in Florida. Florida, New York, New Jersey, Ireland, Spain, China or Antarctica, his parents could be anywhere. How often does a young man have a mother who is an international spy and a father who is a professor of advanced technologies?” Nonetheless, they were now in Connecticut and obviously were concerned.

The professor had been working on a super advanced technology. He had the idea that he cold release extreme power and force of an atom, people cold power entire cities off of that one single atom. After years of work and advanced research, he made this possible. Professor Goetz called it, atomic energy. Unfortunately, those he worked for at the United States government had ulterior motives as well. They believed that one could not only power cities, but destroy them as well. Even more concerning was he fact that a Russian spy who was embedded deep within the United States government has stolen the plans for this technology. These plans had to be recovered and if this technology could not be utilized for good must unfortunately be destroyed.

The Duchess, Mrs. Goetz, had a strong lead. Vladimir Boycheko was a professor who worked at the United States Bureau of Secrets, a top-secret operation, not even known to the president, for the last five years. Last week, he disappeared, as did the plans. Intelligence shows he has been unable to leave the country and is expected to be somewhere near Hoboken, New Jersey. An operation has been established to bring him out of hiding.

The world was in harms way. James Goetz, but a student, was being called upon to help his parents save lives and in essence, save the world.

Boycheko knew Professor Goetz. He did not know the younger Goetz.  The Duchess knew Boycheko’s profile. A direct boat ride to Russia was to be scheduled that week. It was up to James Goetz to ensure Boycheko knew of it. Duchess Goetz was to apprehend the plans after Professor Goetz; Boycheko’s colleague would have him out of his room long enough. Once the plans were apprehended they would lower themselves into the water on a lifeboat and row it back to New Jersey.

Easily enough, all went without a hitch. James Goetz positioned himself near the ticket window at the shipyard, talking loudly about a direct trip to Russia. Boycheko bit the bait.

While onboard, Professor Goetz conveniently bumped into his Russian colleague and invited him for some Irish whiskey. As they spoke on the main deck, the Duchesss snuck into Boychoko’s room, finding the plans as day in his suitcase. She brought them t an emergency boat, where James Goetz awaited. What seemed like forever, a lightly slurring professor made his way to the boat.

James Goetz took the liberty of rowing his parents back home to New Jersey.  He had to get back to Connecticut for he had his final few weeks of class ahead.
